Job description

Quality Management:

  • Develop and implement QA/QC policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor adherence to quality plans.

Supervision:

  • Lead and supervise the QA/QC team, providing guidance and support.

  • Assign tasks and monitor the performance of QA/QC inspectors and technicians.

  • Train and mentor team members on quality control procedures and best practices.

Inspection and Testing:

  • Oversee the inspection of materials, equipment, and construction activities.

  • Ensure all testing is conducted according to project requirements and standards.

  • Review and approve inspection and test plans (ITPs).

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities.

  • Prepare and submit QA/QC reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action reports (CARs).

  • Ensure all project documentation is properly filed and accessible.

Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality issues.

  • Participate in project meetings to discuss quality concerns and provide recommendations.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies regarding quality-related matters.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in QA/QC processes and recommend changes.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances.

  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the project team.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Ensure QA/QC activities are conducted in compliance with HSE policies and procedures.

  • Report any unsafe conditions or practices related to quality assurance and control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and regulations.

  • Experience with inspection and testing methodologies.

  • Proficient in the use of quality management software and tools.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Based in Ras al Khaimah, UAE, with potential site visits and fieldwork.

  • Regular interaction with various project stakeholders.
