Job description

Material and Equipment Management:

  • Manage the supply chain for construction materials, furnishings, and specialized hotel equipment. Ensure proper storage and handling on-site, optimizing space and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Transportation and Distribution:

  • Oversee the transportation of construction materials, hotel-specific equipment, and furnishings to the Jeddah site. Ensure compliance with local regulations and manage the logistics of cross-border shipments, if required.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination:

  • Build strong relationships with local and international suppliers, ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of high-quality materials and equipment for the hotel project. Negotiate contracts and track supplier performance to meet the specific requirements of the hotel project.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and supervise a team of logistics professionals, including on-site material handlers, warehouse staff, and transportation teams. Ensure all staff are trained on the specific requirements of hotel construction and safety standards in Saudi Arabia.

Budget Management and Cost Control:

  • Oversee the logistics budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of delivery and quality. Report regularly on logistics performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all logistics operations are compliant with local regulations, and health, and safety standards, especially in the context of Saudi Arabian laws. Identify and mitigate potential risks, such as delays in material delivery, customs issues, or on-site congestion.

Support for Project Completion:

  • Assist in the final stages of the hotel project by coordinating the delivery and installation of furnishings, decor, and hotel-specific facilities. Ensure smooth logistics for handover to hotel operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.

  • Proven experience working in logistics management within main contractor companies on large-scale construction projects.

  • Construction Expertise: In-depth understanding of construction supply chains, project-based logistics, and handling heavy equipment and materials.

  • Leadership: Strong team leadership skills, particularly in managing on-site logistics teams and coordinating with cross-functional project teams.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software and a working knowledge of construction-related regulations and standards.
