​MEP Quantity Surveyor / Snr MEP Quantity Surveyor

Department:

Commercial - Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Services

Reporting To:

Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Control:

  • Monitor costs to ensure that the project is within the agreed budget.

  • Identify and manage variations and changes to the project scope.

  • Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.

  • Procurement:

  • Assist in the procurement of MEP subcontractors and materials.

  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids.

  • Prepare and manage procurement schedules.

  • Contract Administration:

  • Prepare and manage contracts for MEP works.

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

  • Handle contractual claims and disputes.

  • Valuations and Payments:

  • Prepare and agree on interim valuations and final accounts.

  • Assess and certify subcontractor payments.

  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure timely payments.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial reports and statements for MEP works.

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

  • Provide cost advice and financial updates to the project team.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other quantity surveyors.

  • Attend site meetings and provide financial input.

  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on MEP works.

  • Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in cost estimation software, MS Office, and project management tools.

  • Analytical Skills:

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication:

    Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Detail-oriented:

    High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
