MEP Quantity Surveyor / Snr MEP Quantity Surveyor
Department:
Commercial - Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Services
Reporting To:
Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Control:
Monitor costs to ensure that the project is within the agreed budget.
Identify and manage variations and changes to the project scope.
Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.
Procurement:
Assist in the procurement of MEP subcontractors and materials.
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids.
Prepare and manage procurement schedules.
Contract Administration:
Prepare and manage contracts for MEP works.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Handle contractual claims and disputes.
Valuations and Payments:
Prepare and agree on interim valuations and final accounts.
Assess and certify subcontractor payments.
Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure timely payments.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial reports and statements for MEP works.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
Provide cost advice and financial updates to the project team.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other quantity surveyors.
Attend site meetings and provide financial input.
Coordinate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on MEP works.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cost estimation software, MS Office, and project management tools.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
